My experience with NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 :

I purchased this tinted moisturizer while I was on vacation as it is very difficult to find certain brands in India. They are either very expensive online (with shipping and duties etc) or they are not available in our cities. When will we have easy access to such makeup brands ????

Nars make great base makeup with a wide variety of shades and undertones, so when it came to buying a tinted moisturizer, how could I miss this brand ? I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

Packaging: It comes in a classic opaque black, sleek and matte finish squeeze tube. The lid closes very tightly and the nozzle dispenses the right amount of product. It easily fits into the purse, very travel friendly packaging.

Consistency: The tinted moisturizer has a light and liquid-y texture, but not overly runny. The formula is very light weight and blends like a dream with fingers, makeup sponges or brushes without any patchiness. I prefer using a makeup brush. (e.g; Real Techniques buffing brush)

Coverage: Product provides light to medium coverage, which is pretty good as compared to other tinted moisturizers/BB/CC creams I have used. It evens out the skin tone and hides light imperfections beautifully. I still require concealer for dark circles and heavy pigmentation. No complains as it is meant to provide bare skin perfection. It is very good for those who don’t need much coverage and have pretty good skin. It is definitely not for ladies with major skin concerns.

Shade: The shade St. Mortiz as in description, is neutral warm/yellow. I find it perfect for my light to medium skin tone. For reference I am NC30-35 in MAC foundations.

Finish: It settles down to a beautiful skin like finish. Neither overly dewy nor matte, this is good for my combination skin. It looks like nothing on the skin, even with close observation. The skin looks like my skin but better. It doesn’t cling to dry patches. It doesn’t accentuate pores or fine lines.

Staying power: This is the part which impresses me a lot. It stays put for 7-8 hours in air-conditioned and winter weather. Duration might be slightly less in humid weather. After about 3 hours, shine is visible on my skin, but its not oily, which usually happens with any base make up that I use. I use a light powder over my t-zone and I’m good to go. Even my blush and bronzer last longer over it. It doesn’t break me out nor does it clog my pores. I can’t comment how it would work for very dry or very oily skin.

Fragrance:  It is not completely fragrance free. It has a beautiful floral scent which disappears soon after application.

Pros:

  • Light weight.
  • Decent light coverage for day to day and office wear.
  • Good amount of shades to match varying skin tones.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Gives ‘bare skin’ and velvety finish.
  • Long lasting.
  • Doesn’t cling to dry patches.
  • Doesn’t settle into pores or fine lines.
  • Worth money.

Cons:

  • Availability in India

Verdict: A +

Price: 44.00 USD for 50 ml

Recommendation: Highly recommended to those looking for long lasting, light coverage alternative to foundation for regular use. Expensive, though worth every penny. This is my favorite tinted moisturizer that I can use all year round. After using this I have forgotten all my foundations, BB creams and CC creams. Love love love, I will definitely repurchase it once it gets finished.
